Even days after hearing the horrific news, analyzing the avalanche
report, crying alone on the couch, and spending a long day in the mountains in
reflection, I have not been able to even begin processing the death of Ben Parsons in an
avalanche in Glacier National Park.
Perhaps I will have something more eloquent to add to the
outpouring of memories and grief, but for now, all I can say is that Ben was
one of a kind, a great athlete but a hundred times greater human. I am heartbroken for his family and the community. He wasn't
supposed to die in the mountains. It could have been me on hundreds of
occasions.
To all he touched, we will get through this together.
Miss you, Benny. |
